Concert, Neil Diamond at Earls Court, London 2005
Concert, Neil Diamond at Earls Court, London 2005 There is 1 June 2005 and three years less than a month or so since the last time I saw Neil Diamond perform at Earls Court, I wonder if this could be an error because 2002 was so amazing concert and so charismatic that Neil I am not sure if he could live up to now my very high expectations. The atmosphere is electric in the 17,000-odd seat arena, and I hope that Neil would hurry and on stage. I do not have to wait long. The band, all 12 pieces, it is clear from the bottom stage and the show begins with "Crunchy Granola Suite", quickly followed by more Vintage diamond. Neil is exactly the same - blacks pants, shirt crisp, energy, the voice, the charm and atmosphere, and the mixture of passion with which he offers the choice of the time. Contrary to expectations, there is nothing new from his forthcoming album, but a kind of preview in the form of a series of numbers sound like "the grass and do not pay no mind", one of my personal favorites, Neil brings session with his guitar. Some of the child, a new treatment un po 'in terms of scheme, but the voice, the heart is the same. In homage to UB40s impressed with Red Red Wine, Neil begins by rap. I'm not sure that I do not prefer to be original. "Forever in Blue Jeans" makes some interesting harmonies and brass support from three singers (one more than last time), the patriotic "America" leads the audience to their feet (including the London crowd) and "Sweet Caroline" and as always, to sing at all, our enthusiasm for the promotion of Neil a couple of encores. Apart from the rare moments of sitting, Neil around the stage with his usual energy, encouraging the crowd (as if they need it), and generally looking as if it had a good time. He has the ladies in the audience practically swooning from slightly suggestive "Play Me" and his voice almost put comments below the knee. For me, apart from "the grass and do not pay no mind" were the highlights "Desir? and "(missing the Tour in 2002) and" You Do not Bring Me Flower ", again in the duet with Linda Press and an encore of the fabulous" I've Been This Way Before. " I can not believe how this show is great, lights, music, camaraderie and the ability of the band, but above all, the mere presence and distinctive voice, Neil Diamond.
